The Alaska Chapter offers 2 scholarships. $1000 for a Private Pilot and $1500 for an Advanced Rating.
The MatSu Chapter offers a $1000 scholarship.
Criteria: Must be a female resident of Alaska.
 
The Antelope Valley Chapter's Future Woman Pilot program is designed to assist women to become private pilots. Applicants must be eligible for membership in The Ninety-Nines and participants must become active members of the Antelope Valley 99s. Reimbursements are made for flight training milestones, with a maximum value of $750 if all milestones are completed while a member of the program.

The Appalachian Aviatrixes Chapter offers a $500 Flight Test Costs Scholarship to a Ninety-Nines Southeast Section (SES) Member. The SES Member must have at least one year of active membership with The 99s.

We are offering four $1000 scholarships to local women. The four scholarships are to be used by the recipients to obtain an advanced rating or training to further their pursuit in aviation.

Each Spring the Bay Cities Chapter offers a scholarship to a woman working toward her Private or Sport pilot license. 99s membership is NOT a requirement. She must live within 99 nautical miles of KOAK (Oakland Airport). Applications are posted in January with submission deadlines in April.

Jewell Bailey Brown Memorial Scholarship Award
The Southeast Section Carolinas Chapter Ninety-Nines is offering one $1,500 scholarship to qualifying applicants.
 
The Richard J. Santori Memorial Scholarship offers two annual scholarships to members of the North Central Section ("NCS") under the auspices of The Chicago Area Chapter of The Ninety-Nines ("CAC").
One scholarship in the amount of $2,000 is to be used to assist a 99 in the completion of an additional pilot certificate or rating.
The other scholarship offers $1,000 to assist a Student Pilot Member toward completion of an initial pilot certificate, in any aircraft.  Applicants must have soloed, and, if required for the pilot certificate sought, must have a current medical certificate and must have passed the written exam.

Scholarship(s) are awarded annually each May to female student pilots in Colorado to complete her recretional, sport or private pilot certificate. The amount and number of awards varies by year.
 

$1000 towards completion of a Private Pilot certificate or advanced rating.
Criteria: Female who has been a member of the Connecticut Chapter of The 99s for at least six months, holds at least a Student Pilot certificate and at least a current class III medical certificate. Requirements:  Application form, Personal Statement, Letters of Recommendation.

DELAWARE CHAPTER
The Delaware Chapter is offering a $2,000 scholarship for flight time. Application must be postmarked no later than May 31, 2022.Scholarship will be awarded at chapter regular/zoom meeting in June, 2022. Click here for more information.
 

Applicants must be a resident of one of the six New England states (Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, or Vermont) who is studying anywhere in the US, or a resident of any state who is studying in one of the New England states.

The ENE 99s Honorary Scholarship ($3,000) honors a long-time member of the ENE Chapter and is awarded to a woman or a man who has at least soloed.

The William Bridge Scholarship ($2,000) is funded by Eastern New England Chapter member Ann Bridge Baddour in memory of her father and is awarded to a woman with at least a private pilot certificate who is pursuing an advanced rating.

The Jeanne Ohnemus/Cynthia Hurvitz Scholarship ($2,000) is open to a woman who has soloed.

The ENE 99s Takeoff Scholarship ($1,000) funded by an anonymous donation is open to a female student pilot who is at least 16 years of age, with at least four hours of flight training in the past six months and has a student pilot certificate or a logbook endorsement from a CFI verifying citizenship.

 

Three scholarship awards are available, which can be used for any aviation purpose.

Criteria:

  1. Applicant must be female who are members of the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of The Ninety-Nines, Inc; or those who reside, attend school, or are employed in the following counties: (Pennsylvania) Northampton, Lehigh, Berks, Dauphin, Lebanon, Lancaster, York, Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Delaware, Philadelphia; (New Jersey) Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Salem; or (Delaware) New Castle.
  2. Applicant must be at least 16 years old at the time of application. There is no upper age limit.
  3. Applicant must be available for a personal interview with the Scholarship Committee, if requested.

Completed applications including completed forms for letters of recommendation must be received by the deadline of 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

 
Fran Sargent Scholarship offered by the Florida Goldcoast Chapter to help a woman with at least a private pilot certificate pursue her aviation goals.Up to $2000.

The Florida The Florida Heartland Chapter of The Ninety-Nines International Organization of Women Pilots is proud to announce our yearly scholarship to provide funding toward pilot training, materials, ground school or exams. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide extra monetary assistance to a woman working on furthering her flight training.

The Fullerton 99s Maverick Scholarship
The Fullerton Chapter of the Ninety-Nines will fund a $2,000 scholarship for entrants with at least a private pilot certificate to pursue Emergency Maneuvering Training and/or Basic Aerobatics. A committee made up of aviation and business leaders will score the applications and determine a winner.
Must be a current member of the Ninety-Nines in good standing and hold at least their PPL certificate.
A
pplications must be submitted by March 1 and will be reviewed for that calendar year.

The Fullerton 99s Sylvia Paoli Scholarship
The Fullerton Chapter of the Ninety-Nines is taking applications for the Sylvia Paoli Scholarship. A $1,974 award to help fund flight training in honor of Sylvia Paoli (and the founding year of the Fullerton Chapter of The Ninety-Nines).
Applicants must:
1. Be a member of the Southwest Section of the Ninety-Nines. (California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Hiwaii)
2. Have a minimum of five hours of flight training in the six months prior to the application deadline.
3. Have a current and valid medical certificate.
4. Have a pilot certificate. (Student pilots must have their written completed or have soloed.)
5. Receive their flight training within the United States.
6. Demonstrate a need for financial assistance.

GREATER ST. LOUIS CHAPTER
Criteria: The Greater St. Louis 99s offer the Del Scharr Scholarship to a female college student in good standing majoring in an aviation related field.

The Lake Erie Chapter is offering a $1,000 scholarship to be used for initial or advanced flight training. This scholarship will be awarded annually and honors member Bernice Barris, for her over 50 years of dedicated service and support of women pilots.
Highlights:
* Allowing northwestern Pennsylvania members to apply (there is no other chapter in Pennsylvania close enough for them to join a Pennslyvania chapter, so they join our chapter)
* Allowing applications by prior Bernice Barrus Scholarahip awardees for higher ratings or certificates in subsequent years.
* Allowing occasional increase in the total award amount from $1,000 to up to $2,000 in years when our budget allows, and at the sole discretion of the scholarship committee.

Clarifying the reimbursement scenario to be used by the scholarship.
* Clarifying wording regarding flight instructors and flight schools.
* Clarifying wording regarding the official name of the Lake Erie Chapter, and its relationship to the North Central Section and The International Ninety-Nines, Inc.
 
The Manitoba Chapter of The Ninety-Nines is pleased to offer the Rosella Bjornson Scholarship. The flight training scholarship is in the amount of $1500 and is to be used for advance flight training. Solo time or time building hours do not qualify. Scholarship payments will be made to the flight school or flying club directly and is to be used within a 12 month period.
Criteria: The scholarship is open to female residents of Manitoba or a member of the Manitoba Chapter of The 99s, and hold a Private Pilot License or higher.
 
The Minnesota Chapter of the Ninety-Nines offers two $1,000 scholarships to qualifying applicants. These scholarships will be awarded in March. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded for course work toward a Private Pilot license and the second $1,000 scholarship will be awarded for an additional rating or endorsement. This Scholarship is open to all women pilots, including members of The Ninety-Nines.
Criteria: 1) Applicant must be:
  a) Female and at least 25 years of age.
  b) Pursuing an aviation goal that includes flight training.
  c) Minnesota resident or student of a Minnesota school.
  2) If applicant is a student pilot, she must already have her solo endorsement.
  3) Applicant must have received a passing grade on the written FAA exam.
  4) Applicant must complete the application process.
  5) Application and all supporting documents must be postmarked by December 31.
  6) Applicant cannot be a previous Minnesota 99s scholarship or Amelia Eahart winner.
  7) Winner must commit to membership in The Ninety-Nines, Inc. and the Minnesota Chapter for two consecutive years following award of scholarship.

Criteria: Female student pilot, resident of Montana and be receiving her flight training in the State of Montana.

The Monterey Bay Chapter offers one $2000 scholarship to a local woman. It is either to be used by the recipient to obtain her private pilot license or to obtain an advanced rating to further her pursuit of a career in aviation.
Criteria:The Student applicant must be in good health and not dependent on medication or have any other disqualifying condition.
The Advanced applicant must have a current medical certificate, appropriate to the rating she seeks.
The applicant must live in Santa Cruz or Monterey County.
If the applicant is already a licensed pilot, she must have completed any necessary written exams, have a current flight review or equivalent, and have all ratings prerequisite to the rating she seeks before money is awarded but not necessarily before application. Otherwise, she must have completed the private written exam before money is awarded, but not necessarily before application.
The applicant, if less than 18 years of age, may elect to use the scholarship for ground school instruction expenses or have the money held until she is 18 years of age for flight instruction expenses.
If not already a licensed pilot, applicant must be proficient in English.
The applicant must demonstrate a financial need for the scholarship.

For 2022, the Mount Shasta Chapter will award two scholarships in the amount of $2,000. Criteria: Any female pilot or female student pilot eighteen years or older, training in New Jersey, who is a member of The 99s before the close of the application, is eligible to apply for the Chapter Scholarship.

The Orange County Chapter of the Ninety-Nines International Organization of Women Pilots is offering up to two scholarships to local women. The number of scholarships awarded is dependent upon the amount of funding available.
In 2023, the chapter will award two scholarships honoring our Chapter's Living Legend, Beverleymae Allen.
The scholarships are to be used by the recipients towards an advanced rating or training to further their pursuit in aviation.  Each scholarship is $3,000 and can be applied towards Private Pilot Certificate, advanced ratings or towards Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) advancement.

The Rising Star Scholarship is a $1,000 Oregon Pines labor of love intended to assist a 99 member to rise to a higher level in aviation training. We would be pleased to see it applied to a new airmen certificate, a higher certificate, additional rating or other proficiency training.

The Paradise Coast Chapter offers the Becki King Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $2,000 to be applied to flight training for any certificate (private pilot through ATP.
Criteria: Florida resident age 16 or older with a minimum of a student pilot certificate (or medical certificate appropriate for the rating sought), and documented flight training toward the rating desired. Preference will be given to an applicant who has earned a passing grade on any written test needed for that rating. The Phoenix Chapter offers the June Bonesteel Memorial Flight Training Scholarship in the amount of $2,000 for flight training. 
Criteria: Female Arizona resident with minimum of Student Pilot Certificate (Primary training applicants must have soloed and passed the written exam).

SANTA BARBARA CHAPTER
The Joan Steinberger Aviation Scholarship will be awarded in 2018. Two scholarships will be awarded, each in the amount of $2500.00.

Criteria: 17 years old, female, private pilot, current medical and flight review. Must live within 150 miles of Charles M. Schulz, Sonoma County Airport (STS) and be working toward a career in aviation.

The Sarasota Ladybugs 99s Chapter would like to offer our second annual scholarship toward current and/or actively aspiring pilots to assist her in working toward her next certification goal. This scholarship is possible due to a generous donation from Lee & Nancy Buechler. The scholarship is for $2,000 and applications need to be submitted by October 31, 2019.   • have successfully completed the FAA written test for the rating sought.

The Southeast Section Ninety-Nines is pleased to offer the New Horizons Scholarship for any level of flight certificate or rating in the amount of $2500. For instructions and application please visit the New Horizon Scholarship on the SE Section website.

  • Applications will be accepted from pilots or student pilots (with solo endorsement) who are Southeast Section Ninety-Nines members.
  • Application requires information about applicant's aviation background, aviation goals, and specific plans for the use of the scholarship.
  • Applicant has to be a member of The Ninety-Nines, Inc® for one year prior to submitting application for the New Horizons Scholarship.
  • Winner will be notified within eight (8) weeks of the submission deadline of April 2.
  • Award money will be paid to a flight school or flight instructor.
  • Winner must use the scholarship funds within 14 months of the official scholarship notification.
  • Continuation of funding is dependent on active membership with The Ninety-Nines, Inc®.

New Horizons Scholarship for application

Each June, the Spaceport 99s awards the Blackwell-Walker Memorial Scholarship to a deserving woman who is pursuing a career path in aviation. The scholarship amount is currently $2,000. The scholarship can be used for any flight training beyond the private/LSA pilot certificate.
Application packages are accepted from March 1 through April 30.

Eligibility requirements are a woman who:
•  is at least 18 years old.
•  holds a pilot certificate beyond student pilot.
•  is actively engaged in flight training.
•  has a need for financial assistance.
•  has the desire to make a career in the field of aviation.
•  is either a permanent resident of, or currently living in, the region encompassed by The 99s.

Southeast Section, which includes Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississipppi, Lousiana & Tennesee.
(For example, a flight student with a permanent residence in New York who is attending school in Florida is eligible for this scholarship. Likewise, a flight student with a permanent residence of Georgia who is attending school in North Dakota is also eligible.)


Membership in The Ninety-Nines is NOT required, and United States citizenship is NOT required.

FLY IT FREDERICK SCHOLARSHIP – The Sugarloaf Chapter 99s are offering up to a $3,000 scholarship in honor the "small but mighty" Sugarloaf 99s Chapter, who provides inspiration and support to the fellow aviatrix of our Chapter and Section to help them pursue their aviation related goals. Funds may be used for any phase of flight training (initial pilot through ATP including instrument, instructor or other ratings), academic work related to aviation, air racing, or charity flying to a qualified applicant who is a student or full member of the Sugarloaf Chapter or the Mid-Atlantic Section of The Ninety-Nines, Inc.

Additional requirements are:
1) Initial Certificate and Instrument Rating require a Chapter or Section mentor identified and recommendation letter written by the mentor,
2) The 2nd recommendation letter should be from your CFI, Trainer, Teacher, Program Lead, etc. that can support your aviation goals,
3) Applicant Essay should include how you intend to use the funds, how any additional expenses will be covered to complete your chosen activity, and a brief history of your volunteerism,
4) Provide a copy of the Training or Event Program/Curriculum/Syllabus, etc. that outlines the activity to be funded (limit 2 pages)

Please note that the applicant and mentor (if applicable) must report monthly to the Sugarloaf Scholarship Chair on progress. Funds will be paid to the vendor directly after receipt of evidence of achieving specific milestone(s) or other criteria agreed upon at the time of award notification. Scholarship funds may be awarded to multiple applicants or to a single recipient, at the discretion of the scholarship committee and merit of the applications.

 West Canada Section's $1,500 scholarship is open to licensed female pilots for flight training as well as to non-pilots who are contributing to aviation in other ways such as an education or research project, or career training in a non-flying but aviation related field.
