Each year, The Ninety-Nines award several scholarships to qualified members for flight training (advanced and student) or courses in specialized branches of aviation.

ALASKA CHAPTER 99s
The Alaska Chapter offers 2 scholarships. $1000 for a Private Pilot and $1500 for an Advanced Rating.
The MatSu Chapter offers a $1000 scholarship.
Criteria: Must be a female resident of Alaska.

ALAMEDA COUNTY (CA) CHAPTER 99s
The Alameda County Chapter of The Ninety-Nines, Inc. is sponsoring one Aviation Scholarship in the amount of $1000.
DEADLINE: Application must be postmarked by November 15, 2011.
Criteria: The applicant must be a female who is actively pursuring flight training, has soloed and passed her FAA Written Examination and must live within the nine Bay Area Counties (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma). More information...

ANTELOPE VALLEY 99s FUTURE WOMEN PILOTS AWARD PROGRAM
Upon successful completion of certain milestone phases of their flight training, an FWP in our chapter will be awarded specific stipends (including 99s membership dues) not to exceed $800.

BAY CITIES CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP
Each Spring the Bay Cities Chapter offers a scholarship to a woman working toward her Private or Sport pilot license. 99s Membership is NOT a requirement. She must live within 99 nautical miles of KOAK (Oakland Airport). Applications are posted in January with submission deadlines in April.

CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP $500
A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a deserving female pilot who has the desire to expand her knowledge and experiences in aviation.

CHRISTINA MYERS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - IMPERIAL So-Lo CHAPTER 99s
Criteria: This $1000 scholarship is established for a woman beginning student who has soloed and passed the written examination. There must be a recommendation from a certified flight instructor. She must be a resident of Imperial or San Deigo County.

COLORADO CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP
A $1000 scholarship is awarded yearly to a woman student pilot in the state of Colorado to complete her private license.

CONNECTICUT CHAPTER $1000 SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Criteria: Female, residing in the State of Connecticut (OR, if not a CT resident, sponsored by a CT 99 Chapter member), holding current medical certificate, and planning to make aviation a vocation, or an avocation that will contribute to The 99s mission of encouraging women to enter the world of aviation.

COYOTE COUNTRY CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIPS
We are offering the Pam Van Der Linden Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1000.
Criteria: Female Private Pilot furthering her training in the Southern California area.

We are also offering the Barbara Brotherton Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $750.
Criteria: Female student pilots who have soloed or will solo by the application due date.

DEL SHARR SCHOLARSHIP
Criteria: The Greater St. Louis 99s offer the Del Scharr Scholarship to a female college student in good standing majoring in an aviation related field.

DODIE RIACH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP -- NORTH JERSEY 99s -- $1500
Criteria: The scholarship is open to both men and women for pilot education and training in northern New Jersey.
DEADLINE: Applications are distributed in the fall each year to local airports in northern New Jersey.

NEW ENGLAND CHAPTER AND SECTION SCHOLARSHIPS

EASTERN NEW ENGLAND CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIPS
The Eastern New England Chapter of The Ninety-Nines, International Organization of Women Pilots, announces three 2013 scholarships available for women and men studying for a career in aviation or training in aviation.

Pat Theberge Honarary Scholarship -- $1500
This scholarship is open to both women and men.

William Bridge Scholarship -- $1500
This scholarship is open to women with at least a private pilot certificate.

Ann Wood Kelly Memorial Scholarship -- $1500
This scholarship is open to women with at least a private pilot certificate.

SECTION SCHOLARSHIP
The New England Section of The Ninety-Nines offers one scholarship in memory of New Hampshire aviator Shirley Mahn, who died at the controls of her Piper Aztec.

Shirley Mahn Memorial Scholarship -- $1500
Open to both women and men.

All scholarships require a New England connection. The applicant must be either a resident of one of the six New England states or studying in New England. Completed applications must be postmarked no later than January 31, 2013.

EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA CHAPTER 99s AVIATION SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarship award can be used for any aviation purpose.
Criteria: Applicant must be female who resides, is employed, or attends school in the Greater Delaware Valley; must be at least 16 years old at the time of application. There is no upper age limit. Applicant must be available for a personal interview with the Scholarship Committee.
DEADLINE: All parts of the completed application must be received by April 30.

FLORIDA GOLDCOAST CHAPTER 99s - FRAN SARGENT SCHOLARSHIP
Fran Sargent Scholarship offered by the Florida Goldcoast Chapter to help a woman with at least a private pilot certificate pursue her aviation goals.

FLORIDA SPACEPORT 99s -- MARY BLACKWELL JOEHRENDT/ANNE WALKER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP -- $1500
Criteria: Recipients must be famale at least 18 years old holding a PPL living in or be a permanent resident of The 99s Southeast Section (FL, GA, NC, SC, AL, MS, LA and TN) with financial need and have a desire to make the field of aviation her career.

GREATER KANSAS CITY CHAPTER 99s
The Greater Kansas City Chapter of The Ninety-Nines is proud to offer flight training scholarship(s) to promote women in aviation and flight training assistance.Those who apply must have a permanent residence within 75 NM of the Kansas City Area, be 18 years of age, soloed and taken the appropriate written exam, if required.

GREATER SEATTLE CHAPTER
The Greater Seattle Chapter Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the 2011 Chapter Scholarship. The scholarship in the amount of $2000 will be awarded to a Student Pilot with a minimum of 10 hours flight time logged, to be used toward completion of a Private or Sport Pilot Certificate.
Criteria: 1) Be a female resident of Western Washington
2) Provide proof of having passed the written exam
3) Possess current Medical and Student Pilot Certificates
4) Be willing to work with an aviation mentor for six calendar months and attend at least one Greater Seattle Chapter 99s meeting to report on your progress

MANITOBA CHAPTER - ROSELLA BJORNSON SCHOLARSHIP
The Manitoba Chapter of The Ninety-Nines is pleased to announce the availability of the 2013 Rosella Bjornson Scholarship. The flight training scholarship is in the amount of $1500 and is to be used for advance flight training. Solo time or time building hours do not qualify. Scholarship payments will be made to the flight school or flying club directly and is to be used within a 12 month period.
Criteria: The scholarship is open to female residents of Manitoba or a member of the Manitoba Chapter of The 99s, and hold a Private Pilot License or higher.

MINNESOTA 99s CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
The Minnesota Chapter of the Ninety-Nines is offering two $1,000 scholarships to qualifying applicants. These scholarships will be awarded in March. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded for course work toward a Private Pilot license and the second $1,000 scholarship will be awarded for an additional rating or endorsement. This Scholarship is open to all women pilots, including members of The Ninety-Nines.
Criteria: 1) Applicant must be:
a) Female and at least 25 years of age.
b) Pursuing an aviation goal that includes flight training.
c) Minnesota resident or student of a Minnesota school.
2) If applicant is a student pilot, she must already have her solo endorsement.
3) Applicant must have received a passing grade on the written FAA exam.
4) Applicant must complete the application process.
5) Application and all supporting documents must be postmarked by December 31.
6) Applicant cannot be a previous Minnesota 99s scholarship or Amelia Eahart winner.
7) Winner must commit to membership in The Ninety-Nines, Inc. and the Minnesota Chapter for two consecutive years following award of scholarship.

MONTANA CHAPTER 99s -- $1000
Criteria: Female student pilot, resident of Montana and be receiving her flight training in the State of Montana.

MONTEREY BAY CHAPTER 99s -- $2000
The Monterey Bay Chapter of The Ninety-Nines, International Organization of Women Pilots is offering one $2000 scholarship to a local woman. It is either to be used by the recipient to obtain her private pilot license or to obtain an advanced rating to further her pursuit of a career in aviation.

Criteria:The Student applicant must be in good health and not dependent on medication or have any other disqualifying condition.
The Advanced applicant must have a current medical certificate, appropriate to the rating she seeks.

The applicant must live in Santa Cruz or Monterey County.

If the applicant is already a licensed pilot, she must have completed any necessary written exams, have a current flight review or equivalent, and have all ratings prerequisite to the rating she seeks before money is awarded but not necessarily before application. Otherwise, she must have completed the private written exam before money is awarded, but not necessarily before application.

The applicant, if less than 18 years of age, may elect to use the scholarship for ground school instruction expenses or have the money held until she is 18 years of age for flight instruction expenses.

If not already a licensed pilot, applicant must be proficient in English.

The applicant must demonstrate a financial need for the scholarship.

NORTH CENTRAL SECTION -- RICHARD J. SANTORI MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Richard J. Santori Memorial Scholarship offers two annual scholarships to members of the North Central Section ("NCS") under the auspices of the Chicago Area Chapter of The Ninety-Nines ("CAC").

One scholarship in the amount of $2000 is to be used to assist a 99 in the completion of an additional pilot certificate or rating.
Criteria: Applicants must be a current pilot with the appropriate medical certificate and must be approaching the flight time requirement for the desired rating or certificate.

The other scholarship offers $1000 to assist an Associate 99 member toward completion of an initial pilot certificate, in any aircraft.
Criteria: Applicant must have soloed, and, if required for the pilot certificate sought, must have a current medical certificate and must have passed the written exam.

Deadline: Completed Application and Attachments Must be Postmarked by March 1, 2013.

OKLAHOMA CHAPTER 99s -- UP TO $5000
Criteria: Female residing in Oklahoma.

PARADISE COAST CHAPTER 99s WINGS OVER PARADISE CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIPS
The Paradise Coast Chapter of The Ninety-Nines, Inc. is offering one scholarship of up to $2000 for flight training.
DEADLINE: Application must be received by January 31, 2013.
Criteria: Female Florida resident age 16 or older with a minimum of a student pilot certificate (or medical certificate appropriate for the rating sought), documented flight training toward the rating desired and a passing grade on any written test needed for that rating.

The Paradise Coast Chapter of The Ninety-Nines, Inc. is offering a second scholarship consisting of a block of ground instruction and AST 300 flight simulator time at Naples Flight Center, Naples, FL.
DEADLINE: Application must be received by January 31, 2013.
Criteria: Same criteria as above except applicant must have at least a private pilot certificate.

Scholarships will be used to help defray the cost of obtaining an aviation rating.

PHOENIX CHAPTER 99s
Two $2000 annual scholarships for female student pilots. Arizona residency required. Details and application are on the Phoenix website.

RENO HIGH SIERRA CHAPTER 99s

Two available scholarships: $2,500 towards a Private Pilot Certificate and $3,000 towards an advanced rating.
Eligible applicants must be female student pilots and female pilots who reside within 100 nautical mile radius of the Reno Tahoe International Airport and includes area north of Hwy 50 to the Utah, Idaho and Oregon borders. Scholarship is applicable to any category of aircraft, i.e. airplane, glider, rotorcraft, lighter-than-air and powered lift. Student pilots must have soloed by the application deadline. Advanced pilots must have already completed at least 5 hours of flight training towards advanced rating/license with a CFI.

RENO AREA CHAPTER 99s
One advanced rating in the amount of $3000 (must hold a valid private pilot certificate and current medical).
One private certificate in the amount of $2000 (must hold a valid student pilot certificate).
Criteria:
1) Current reside within a 75 nm radius of Reno.
2) Have lived in the area for at least one year.
3) Have not been a recipient of our scholarship for the past three years.
4) For private certificate, must have completed first solo flight.

SAN DIEGO 99s SCHOLARSHIPS
The Chapter also offers four scholarships, The Marian Delano Memorial, Dottie Sanders Memorial, Darlene Kelley Memorial and Student Pilot Awards, annually for a total of over $5000.
Criteria: Female pilot in the Southwest Section area. Scholarship award on the basis of a written essay and need.

SAN FERNANDO VALLEY 99s CAREER SCHOLARSHIP - $3000
Up to three scholarships available to men and women who want to further their careers in Aviation.
Criteria: 18 years of age, US CITIZEN and resident of the Greater Los Angeles Area.

Designed to assist women in obtaining Private Pilot Certificates and can be as much as $400.

SAN GABRIEL VALLEY 99s
Mt. San Antonio College Scholarship -- $500
Awarded to a female Mt. SAC student in the professional pilot program who is also a member of the San Gabriel Chapter 99s. Recipient is chosen by the department co-chair.
Jean Bustos Memorial Scholarship -- $500
In memory of Jean Bustos, San Gabriel Valley Chapter member. The JEAN BUSTOS SCHOLARSHIP FUND has been established as a perpetual scholarship, awarded to a mature woman pilot seeking further advancement in her interest in aviation. Areas of advancement include, but are not limited to vocational costs, flight training, testing and/or costs of basic training or retraining.

Linda Hayden Memorial Future Woman Pilot Scholarship -- $750
In memory of Linda Hayden, San Gabriel Valley Chapter member. The LINDA HAYDEN MEMORIAL FUTURE WOMAN PILOT SCHOLARSHIP is a perpetual scholarship awarded to a resident of the San Gabriel Valley and surrounding areas who meets the following criteria: Female, Not a licensed pilt, A United States Citizen, Between the ages of 17 and 99 as of September 1, 2011.

SANTA ROSA 99s SCHOLARSHIP -- $3000
Funds to be used for academic tuition, fees for technical school or flight training.
Criteria: 17 years old, female, private pilot, current medical and flight review. Must live within 150 miles of Charles M. Schulz, Sonoma County Airport (STS) and be working toward a career in aviation.

SCIOTO VALLEY (OHIO) CHAPTER 99s
Criteria: Female Ohio resident pursuing advanced ratings.

VENTURA COUNTY 99s ADVANCED RATING SCHOLARSHIP FOR FEMALE PILOTS
The chapter offers up to $2500 to a female pilots seeking financial support towards earning an advanced rating.
Criteria: Applicant must be a motivated female pilot over the age of 17 training for an advanced rating at any Ventura County Airport (CMA, OXR, SZP or NTD) with at least 5 flight hours in the last 90 days.

VENTURA COUNTY 99s EMERGENCY MANEUVER TRAINING SCHOLARSHIP FOR FEMALE PILOTS

A $600 Scholarship is available to a 99 seeking financial support to persue EMT training for any module (If other than module 1, winner must have completed previous module). The EMT Scholarship will be awarded by Lottery drawing. Winners will be required to write a brief article about the training/flying experience for the VC99s Newsletter.
Criteria: Applicant must be a certificated pilol, with current medical or if light sport, valid drivers license, and have a current 99s membership and be a resident in Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Santa Barbara or Ventura Counties.

VENTURA COUNTY 99s FUTURE WOMEN PILOTS SCHOLARSHIP
The chapter offers up to four scholarships per year up to $3000 each to female student pilots -- one (or more) award in the winter and one (or more) in summer.
Criteria: Applicant must be a motivated female student pilot over the age of 17 who is training at any Ventura County Airport (CMA, OXR, SZP or NTD) with at least 10 flight hours within the last ninety days.
DEADLINE: Summer award deadline is June 1, Winter award deadline is November 1.

WEST CANADA SECTION SCHOLARSHIP AWARD -- $1500
Criteria: The applicant must be a woman who resides in the West Canada Section (Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon Territory).

EAA AVIATION FOUNDATION OFFERS EXTENSIVE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

GIRLS WITH WINGS TRAINING SCHOLARSHIP -- $1000
Girls with Wings will be accepting applications for the 4th Annual GWW Scholarship along with an essay with photo stating why the applicant believes she is a role model for Girl With Wings, to include her motivation, inspirations and future plans. There is no minimum or maximum length required in the essays; quality and completeness are key. There is no need to submit financial information, but if a factor, can be discussed in the essay. The only prerequisite is that applicants must not have yet received her private pilot's license, but must have already soloed. Applicants agree to possibly have portions of or their entire essays and pictures posted on the GWW website.
DEADLINE: Midnight July 31.

LEROY W. HOMER JR. FOUNDATION
The LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation encourages and supports young men and women who wish to pursue aviation careers, as professional pilots. The Foundation will award flight instruction scholarships for potential students, in order to obtain private pilot certification.
