ALASKA CHAPTER 99s $300 - $1,000: Criteria: Must be a female resident of Alaska

ALAMEDA COUNTY (CA) CHAPTER 99s: The Alameda County Chapter of the Ninety-Nines, Inc. is sponsoring one Aviation Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.
Deadline: Application must be postmarked by November 15, 2008
Criteria: The applicant must be a female who is actively pursuing flight training, has soloed and passed her FAA Written Examination and must live within the nine Bay Area Counties (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma). More information...

AMELIA EARHART MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: Each year, The Ninety-Nines award several scholarships to qualified members for flight training (advanced and student) or courses in specialized branches of aviation.
Criteria: The scholarships are open to members of The Ninety-Nines, Inc.; Read all about the Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarships.

The Koch Corp. sponsors one AOPA Air Safety Foundation $1,500 award for a Kentucky resident in an accredited aviation program. Exxon Mobil Lubricants and Petroleum Specialties contributes four scholarships at $2,000 each (two for regular academic aviation and two specifically restricted to A&P students).

CHARLOTTE HAMMOND MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $1,000: Criteria: Imperial County, CA resident; student who has soloed and passed the written examination

COLORADO CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP: A $500 scholarship is awarded yearly to a woman student pilot in the state of Colorado to complete her private license.; CONTACT: See the Colorado chapter website (www.colorado99s.org) for more information.
CONNECTICUT CHAPTER $1000 SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Criteria: Female, residing in the State of Connecticut (OR, if not a CT resident, sponsored by a CT 99 Chapter member), holding current medical certificate, and planning to make aviation a vocation, or an avocation that will contribute to The 99s mission of encouraging women to enter the world of aviation.

COYOTE COUNTRY CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIPS - $1,000: We are offering both the Pam Van Der Linden Memorial Scholarship and the Mary Santosuosso Aviation Scholarship. DODIE RIACH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP $1500: Criteria: The scholarship is open to both men and women for pilot education and training in northern New Jersey.

EASTERN NEW ENGLAND CHAPTER 99s: ENE scholarships for 2008 are:

the Marie Lepore Honorary Scholarship for $1,000,
the Karla Carroll Memorial Scholarship for $1,000 (both of these are open to men and women), and
the William Bridge Scholarship for $1,000 (open to women with at least their private pilot rating).

The New England Section of the Ninety Nines also offers a scholarship memorializing New Hampshire aviatrix Shirley Mahn, who died in 1975 at the controls of her Piper Aztec. Details and applications for this $1,000 scholarship are also available from Olga Mitchell.

EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA CHAPTER 99s AVIATION SCHOLARSHIP: Scholarship award can be used for any aviation purpose.; Criteria: Applicant must be female who resides, is employed, or attends school in the Greater Delaware Valley; must be at least 16 years old at the time of application. There is no upper age limit. Applicant must be available for a personal interview with the Scholarship Committee.; Deadline: All parts of the completed application must be postmarked by April 30.

FLORIDA GOLDCOAST CHAPTER 99s - FRAN SARGENT SCHOLARSHIP: Fran Sargent Scholarship offered by the Florida Goldcoast Chapter to help a woman with at least a private pilot certificate pursue her aviation goals.

GIRLS WITH WINGS TRAINING SCHOLARSHIP - $500: Criteria: Applications are to be an essay stating why the applicant believes she is a role model for Girl With Wings™, to include her motivation, inspirations and future plans. INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF WOMEN AIRLINE PILOTS: Varying grants and type rating awards; Criteria: Minimum 500 hours; CONTACT: International Society of Women Airline Pilots, Attn: Scholarship, 2250 Tropicana Avenue, Suite 19-395, Las Vegas, NV 89119-6541.

LEROY W. HOMER JR. FOUNDATION: The LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation encourages and supports young men and women who wish to pursue aviation careers, as professional pilots. The Foundation will award flight instruction scholarships for potential students, in order to obtain private pilot certification.

LONG ISLAND CHAPTER 99s: Full tuition to Dowling College School of Aviation's Summer Camp
Camp is one week long, usually in July. Dowling College National Transportation Center (NAT) is located in Shirley, New York (on Long Island about 66 miles east of New York City.)
Criteria: Girls only, must be going into 11th or 12th grade. For other requirements contact the Long Island Chapter Chair by June 1st of the year you want to attend.

MARIAN DELANO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - EL CAJON VALLEY 99s - $750: Criteria: female who has passed the written examination and soloed in CA, NV, AZ, UT or HI. Scholarship awarded on the basis of a written essay and need. Deadline is January 28

Deadline is April 30 and will be awarded on May 15 at our regular meeting. We don't know at this time if this will be an annual scholarship.
