Charitable Giving Information
The Ninety-Nines offer a number of opportunities
for tax deductible giving. Contributions may be designated for
any of the major projects, for the permanent endowment fund or
for the general support of the organization's operations.
Members are reminded that donations of
appreciated assets, such as stock, mutual fund shares, or real
estate, may avoid the payment of capital gains taxes by the individual
donor. The tax deduction for such contributions is generally
the fair market value of the asset as of the date of the donation.
Commemoration gifts may be made to recognize
an important event, such as a graduation, anniversary, or other
achievement (perhaps the attainment of a goal such as a license
or rating). Memorial gifts may honor friends or family members.
Gifts may be made for any specific reason or purpose, or for
no other reason than to support and honor the gift of flight
and the organization which supports us all.
People wishing to include more complex
gifts in their retirement or estate plan should discuss their
desires with the trustees of the Endowment
Fund . Gifts may be structured to provide tax-advantaged
retirement income, to provide income for heirs, to provide income
to the organization for a period of years with the principal
eventually going to other beneficiaries, or to meet just about
any other need. The tax advantages of using a charitable organization
such as The Ninety-Nines, Inc., in your retirement and estate
planning can be substantial. Talk to us.
There are many ways to include charitable
gifts in your will or trust, including specific dollar amount
or percentage bequests, contingency or residual bequests, or
testamentary gifts. If you want your gift to be used for a specific
purpose or program, it is important to mention that in the bequest
or gift documentation. Such donor intentions will always be honored
when they have been specifically stated.
SUGGESTED BEQUEST
LANGUAGE
"I give (devise)
and bequeath to The Ninety-Nines, Inc., a corporation chartered
in Delaware, having its principal office at Will Rogers World
Airport in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the sum of $_______________(amount)
(or _______ percent of my residual estate), to be used for _______________________________(purpose).
If I have not specified a purpose for these funds, or if the
specified purpose is no longer associated with The Ninety-Nines,
Inc., then these funds will be added to the principal of the
Endowment Fund of The Ninety-Nines, Inc."

will be treated confidentially.
NOTE: The Endowment Fund Trustees recommended
to the Board of Directors that a policy of directing undesignated
bequests to the principal of the Endowment Fund be affirmed and
publicized to our members. Concern that bequest money will not
be preserved to benefit the organization in perpetuity has been
a factor in the loss of significant bequest monies over the past
seventy years.
March 8, 2002: The Board of Directors
approved and directed publication of the "Charitable Giving
Information" stated above, as recommended by the Endowment
Fund Trustees.
