HIT MY SMOKE by Jan Churchill The Forward Air Controller (FAC) came into his own during the 1960s and 1970s air war in Southeast Asia. In Vietnam, FACS were an indispensable part of the air war -- the link between forces on the ground and strike aircraft, the hub around which the delivery of all in-country ordnance was dependent. The author has owned and flown several FAC aircraft, so this book is written from the pilot's point of view. Churchill interviewed many men who told her stories of their missions during their tour in Southeast Asia. The book covers the pilots, the planes, and the various types of missions. Many well-known incidents are told with eye-witness accounts. The forward is by Colonel (Ret) George E. "Bud" Day, Medal of Honor recipient in Vietnam. The cover art is the "Miracle at Khan Duc" by Keith Ferris. Colonel Day said, "Jan Churchill has paid a fine, long-overdue tribute to these valiant men." Autographed copies can be purchased from the author. Other books: On Wings to War and Classified Secret - Controlling Airstrikes in the Clandestine War in Laos
