When Grandma Learned to Fly, A Flight Instructor's Nightmare
WHEN GRANDMA LEARNED TO FLY, A FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR'S NIGHTMARE by Earline Ames with Roy Richardson

Earline Ames is a retired university professor with thirty-six years of teaching experience, including both public schools and the university. She resides in Rocklin, California.

Co-author Roy Richardson is a full-time flight instructor, commercial pilot and aircraft mechanic who has been teaching for over ten years and flying for twenty years. He and his wife, Karen, also live in Rocklin, California.

This book recounts the story of Ames' struggle to earn her private pilot's certificate at the age of 75 years, after dreaming of learning to fly for over half a century. The story relates how an imaginative and competent teacher and his determined student achieved that goal, despite what seemed to be overwhelming obstacles. Humorous incidents, episodes of despair and moments of elation pepper this adventure of all ages.
