Fire and Ice by Patty Wagstaff

FIRE AND AIR, A Life On The Edge, Patty Wagstaff was co-authored by Ann Cooper and Patty Wagstaff. It is the biography of a pioneer aerobatic pilot, the first woman in the United States to capture the coveted title of National Aerobatic Champion. To prove she was deserving, Patty captured the title three consecutive years -- 1991, 1992 and 1993.

Patty has made it to the top in aerobatics, one of the most dangerous and demanding sports in the world. Within five years of earning her pilot's license and only three years after her first aerobatic lesson, Patty earned a place on the U.S. Aerobatic Team. In less than fourteen years, she became the first woman to win the U.S. Aerobatic Championship. Her aircraft, an Extra 260, is displayed in the Pioneer Gallery of the Smithsonian's National Air & Space Museum. It is located with the aircraft of Amelia Earhart, Charles and Anne Morrow Lindbergh, and General James "Jimmy" Doolittle. Today she is a favorite air show and Hollywood stunt pilot, one among a handful of elite performers.
